FAQ’s

Q: What areas do you cover?

A: We provide tipis for events all across the UK. Delivery charges are calculated based on the distance between your venue and our base in Northamptonshire.

Q: Can you suggest a venue?

A: Please see a list of venues on Our Friends Page, all of which we have worked with and can recommend, if you are looking for a venue outside of the areas listed please get in touch and we will suggest some.

Q: What should I consider when choosing a site?

A: Your site should have good access for 4×4 vehicles, you should consider how level the ground is, how exposed to high winds the site is and you should have a back up site available. Does your site have services available for water and power? If you need help assessing these factors we are happy to come and carry out a site survey.

Q: Can the tipis be set up on sloping ground, or concrete base?

A: Our tipis can be set up on a slight slope, but if the level of the ground is too uneven the poles and canvases will be out of alignment, and will not join together correctly.  We can set the tipis up on tarmac, hardcore and chippings, but we have to drill into the surface, which may cause damage. Unfortunately, we cannot pitch our tipis on concrete.

Q: Do you provide power for the tipis?

A: We can supply you with a generator, just ask for pricing for your area. We can also take electricity from nearby buildings, however we would need to advise you on the electricity requirements and power output required.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad and winds are high?

A: If high winds are forecast we will discuss with you the best time to pitch the tipis. It might be that we decide to change the build day. If your site is exposed or at risk of flooding, we would always recommend that you have a back up site, which is more sheltered or better drained as a contingency.

Q: Are the tipis suitable for winter events?

A: Absolutely! We can provide you with open log fires and heaters, we have hosted many winter wonderland weddings and Christmas parties throughout December, get in touch for more information.

Q: Do you provide facilities for caterers?

A: Yes, We have catering tents and covered walkways available for your caterers. We also work closely with caterers to ensure that their power needs and any other requirements are met.

Q: Do you provide toilets?

A: We can provide you with either contacts for luxury loo’s or can source them for you, whatever you preference we can help.

Q: What is the Damage Waiver?

A: The Damage Waiver will cover loss or accidental damage to our tipis during your event. It means that you won’t have to pay a premium for this part of your event insurance. Our Damage Waiver document contains all the details. Alternatively you can purchase your own event insurance from an insurer such as John Lewis, be careful to see what is covered and what isn’t. Please be aware our Damage Waiver only covers loss or accidental damage to our tipis and equipment. You will need separate cover for things like third party protection and cancellation.

Q: Can you help me with the floor plan inside the tipis?

A: We will work with you to create a floor plan detailing your furnishings and helping to maximise the space within the Tipis. Our Floor plans & prices page has several examples to give you an idea of the many options available.

Q: How long is the hire period for?

A: We usually set up the Tipis a day or two before your event and take them down a day or two after. We can extend the hire period if you require, just let us know how long you would like the Tipis for.

Q: Booking confirmation and payment

A: Once we receive your deposit and a signed booking form, the Tipis will be reserved for your event. Your deposit is 25% of the total value and your balance is due 6 weeks before your event.
